"The story moves back and forth in time.
The scenes in the present get the adrenaline pumping,
while the past - the characters' life stories - are engaging the emotions.
The cast is strong."

You listen to the radio as a news report begins to detail the unimaginable carnage of a train crash. Impenetrable wreckage, choking flames, hundreds of people injured, more than thirty dead - many yet to be found. The crash took place in your city. The train was the 8:00 am - your daughter's ride to school, if she missed the 7:50. Try her cell phone... No answer.... On Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at 8:11am two passenger trains collided near London's Paddington Station. 31 people died and over 200 were injured. WRECK is an original work inspired by this true incident. The show takes a darkly moving look into the lives of five passengers involved in a fatal train collision. WRECK happens immediately after the moment of impact, with the dying passengers caught in a chaotic purgatory. They fly from confusion to desperation while trying in vain to make sense of this place between life and death. Final memories collide, intertwine and dance playfully with one another... fellow passengers enact the roles of absent mothers, lovers and friends. This journey begins with the last stop. |
