Some items help us feel

a sense of significance

a feeling of ceremony

among

the mundane

Like a tie pin

and some cufflinks

With the initials

of our name

Reminding us

of family

of the legacy we’re building

Moving to the future

While

leaving some things to our children

But sometimes life

has other plans

And once full boxes

Are left empty

Yet even still

In cherishing hope

We are eternally held

in plenty
