Never express

dislike

But that’s a pressure of conformity

that is not true to life

Mother daughter relationships

Can be wonderful

or fraught

There can be layers

of love

and supportedness

And then there are those

that aren’t

and death can often beckon us

to dreams

of what could have been

where the grief

of the potential

can cloud

reality’s vision

It can be hard

to break a cycle

When we don’t know what

the cycle is

When we know

We wish for something different

But we’re not sure

what to give

And so gently

to tread forward

And to trust

that in our best

We are sharing

our humanity

in our unjudgementalness
