Often

we have checkpoints

markers in our lives

That show us

of our achievements

or to those

we wish to strive

And sometimes

the definition

of success

can shift

and change

Leaving us

in an unknown state

In a different

kind of place

Where stability

and groundedness

Are still

a little unknown

Like the projects

of a new house

that turn it to a home

Ambition can be a vessel

But it can also

be bittersweet

As we arrive

somewhere we’ve yet to know

And who

we’ve yet to be
